According to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte urges club officials to sign Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kyle Walker in the summer transfer window.
The same sources also claim that the Italian tactician is a huge admirer of the England international and wants his side to pursue a move at the end of the season as he looks to bring in a player who can compete with Victor Moses on Chelsea’s right flank.
But the newly crowned Premier League champions have to face tough competition from Man City, as Pep Guardiola also wants to sign the 26-year-old speedy defender.
It is believed that both Chelsea and Man City would be prepared to double Kyle Walker’s wages of £70,000-per-week.
Tottenham Hotspur remain in a strong negotiating position for their right-back, who signed a five-year contract extension last September, and will demand a fee in excess of £40m for Walker’s signature.
Last week, reports claims that Walker is open to leaving the White Hart Lane in the summer and the right-back is willing to listen to offers from Man City and Manchester United, who have also registered their interest.
