Kelechi Iheanacho's future in Manchester City is looking bleak. His absence in match days is becoming so worrying and is putting his International career in danger.
He caught the attention of Manchester City after he starred in the 2013 U-17 world cup competition for Nigeria, where he scooped the silver boot after scoring a total of 6 goals and 7 assists.
He began hisManchester city career in 2014.He was signed to the club's academy where he had series of impressive plays which caused his call up to the senior squad in 2015 by the then coach Manuel Pellegrini. He ended the 2015-16 season with eight premier league goals and 14 goals in all competition,a stat which is impressive for a player that made most of his appearances off the bench.
His reduced appearances was initially due to Sergio Aguero's presence as the first choice striker which lowers him to a bench role.Despite Pep Guadiola's claims that he likes Iheanacho,he went ahead to purchase Gabriel Jesus,a deal which further reduced him to 'an absentee in the match day squad'.
Kelechi Iheanacho can actually save his career. He has a bright future ahead as he is just 20 years old.If he is to leave, many interested clubs will jump at the opportunity to sign him.But his mouth watering weekly wages of £85,000 may give him a second thought against leaving.Perhaps a loan deal will do.
